About us:
We are a design house that is dedicated to providing our customers with a partner and not just a contract design
service. Outsourcing a design can be successful if there is a good system in place to not only capture your requirements,
but to also fully understand your preferences. We work with your Engineering team to completely document what they expect
to see incorporated into their design. Our design process provides an easy method for us to determine all the relevant
information about your design. We take pride in our process, our designs, and the relationships we build with our customers.
Our Process:
We have a series of questions and forms that
are used during our design process. The four milestones are:
- Project Startup Review
(PSR)
- Component Placement Review (CPR)
- Project Verification Review
(PVR)
- Customer Approval Meeting (CAM)
The Project Startup
Review (PSR)
This is the first phase of our design process and it provides us with the foundation
for your project. Requirements, design rules, preferences, test point criteria, board stack-up, critical nets, and many
other important parameters are documented during this review. This allows us to get a good understanding of what is
going to be required, so our software can be setup properly. We use a checklist to gather common parameters, but any
special requirements that you need are added in to this document. This document is then sent for your approval to make
sure that everything has been documented correctly. These documented parameters will be verified at each additional
milestone in the project.
The Component Placement Review (CPR)
This is the review that Engineers find very helpful in insuring their design is going to be what they expected.
We place the main components and the majority of the passive items in the way the Designer believes offer the best design
solution. Any requirements for component placement from the PKR are also verified before the file is sent for review.
During the CPR meeting we can add additional requirements to meet the preferences of the Engineer. Circuit flow is critical
for the majority of projects we process and component relocation that is required is documented, performed and then verified
with your engineering team. Some test routing may also be performed to insure that component placement will not restrict
critical routing channels.
The Project Verification Review
(PVR)
This is an internal review that is performed before we send preliminary approval data to
our customer. All of the process sheets are reviewed and the design is checked to insure the requirements have been
met. Our internal checklist verifies that the design is not only going to function as intended, but that it also incorporates
known good design practices.
The Customer Approval Meeting (CAM)
An approval package is sent to the customer to review and a meeting is scheduled to go over the process sheets.
This meeting is used to show that the design is complete and meets all documented requirements. Any questions that still
remain are discussed and if any minor modifications or changes need to take place, they are recorded, assigned and a new meeting
is then scheduled. When the design meets the customers expectations a final package is sent to our customer with an
approval form. The Design is complete only when our customer is completely satisfied.
Our Designers:
We only employ
Designers who meet strict criteria. All of our Designers must not only have proper certification, but a minimum of ten
years performing PCB design. Knowledge of PCB fabrication and manufacturing requirements are required
if the design is going to be produced right the first time. All of our Designers are Certified Interconnect Designers with
the IPC. This insures not only a proper understanding of designing PCBs, but that they truly understand all the requirements
for a successful design.
